The AWP slows players down considerably, particularly in Global Offensive, making the AWP unwieldy at closer ranges in the hands of a novice player. The weapon also has terrible accuracy when not using the scope or firing while moving, so scoping in and standing still is a necessity at all times to retain a competitive edge. Additionally, the sound that results from firing is loud and easily recognizable; the moment a shot is fired, the enemy team is aware of an AWP being on the battlefield. Thus, the enemy team will change their tactics in attempts to take down the AWP as top priority by flanking the user or using other tactics to against the user.
In addition, this weapon is bolt-action, which results in a slow rate of fire. A missed shot can leave the user vulnerable while chambering another bullet and allowing enemies to use that opportunity to counter the user or escape. The last downfall is the weapon's lack of economic efficiency—it is expensive and the kill reward is low (in Global Offensive). Therefore, getting killed while holding this weapon may cause huge problems for the user's team as the enemy may take the advantage by taking this weapon and use it on the user's team.
This weapon is generally considered a "high risk, high reward" weapon because it is powerful but very slow in terms of rate of fire, reload speed, and movement speed.
The AWP is not available for the Counter-Terrorists to purchase in Assassination maps. They can, however, get one from fallen Terrorists.

Denial eSports signs remnants of Winterfox, imports SKYTTEN
Earlier this month, Winterfox’s Buy CS GO Skins squad was split down the middle. David “Xp3” Garrido, Todd “anger” Williams, and Kyle “flowsicK” Mendez left the team to start a new lineup featuring Swedish players Alexander “SKYTTEN” Carlsson and Christian “Spitfire” Schiölde.

SKYTTEN issued a statement through Yahoo Esports:
“As most of you already know, I have made a commitment to a new team. First off, I want to say that I am very excited to be a part of this roster. We have been trying to make this happen since my departure from Kinguin last year.”
“I want to explain why I didn’t make a statement about this until today. HLTV already announced our ESEA roster under “PiedPiper”, but we had yet to negotiate and sign contracts with an organization…With that said, I am proudly announcing that we are representing Denial eSports from this day forward.”
According to Ray Arsenault from Denial, the team has plans to move into a house in Southern California very soon, and added that the two Swedish players will be playing out of the Esports Arena LAN center in Santa Clara until then.
“I am extremely excited to welcome the CS:GO guys to Denial eSports,” he said. “I have worked with a lot of them in the past, and I am happy to work with Spitfire and SKYTTEN as they transition to the NA scene. I am also enthusiastic to have the guys moving to a house in California. There is a lot to look forward to in the future of Denial.”
The team will be playing in the ESEA Premier League after some controversy over Winterfox retaining their spot over the majority of the roster that left to form Denial. The team will also be participating in the MTW Premier League,cs go new case the ESWC 2016 Qualifier, the ELeague S2 Qualifier, and the qualifier for the next major.

Today it was announced that I would be replaced in the starting line-up of Optic CS:GO with Tarik from CLG. Obviously this wasn’t my decision, and they did what they felt like was best for the future of the team, and I wish them luck for the future.
I will always cherish my eight months under Optic. Beginning in January, one of the biggest eSports organizations in the world decided to take a chance on our team after we parted ways with Conquest. I felt really honoured to play under the Optic banner and did my best to strive for becoming the best team in North America. We definitely had some ups and downs but overall I feel that we had a successful year up to this point. I set out a goal for myself and the team at the start of the year and that was to qualify for a major, and I was thrilled when that dream came true. Although we performed horribly at the major, I still felt optimistic for the second half of the year. I never once believed that after exiting the major that that would be the end of our success. I am a strong believer in the fact that success comes with hard work and I was delighted with our progress, albeit was not as quick as some might have wanted. Nonetheless, we slowly rose to the top of the NA Scene.
This is where I assume the team had other ideas and started to think about changes that they felt were necessary to take them to the next level. I believe that with Tarik they will do well, as he is a fantastic player. I just wish they had told me two weeks ago when they first approached him instead of me learning it from a third party source, as now the season has started and my options will be limited.
As for myself, I will be exploring my options and doing what is best for me in the end. I’d like to thank the GreenWall for all of their support these last eight months; you guys are truly some of the best fans in this community.

Obviously we would rather be playing from home, close to family and friends, but the big tournaments are here and Brazilian teams that want to show up will have to come here. At least for now this is the reality.
Two of your teammates (bit and destinyy) have been with you for a while, but this is the first time you’ve played with the other two members PKL and yeL. Can you explain why either of them were brought into the team and what they bring into the team?

At the moment we have to walk on the floor and go one step at a time, playing the CEVO Main, ESEA Main, and perchance the qualifiers that appear.

We are looking forward to finally playing a LAN tournament, even more in a league with so many good teams. It will be our first big test now that we're a little more prepared and structured.
